Choice of location in the garden
Plantain lilies are mainly recommended for shady, semi-shady places, their leaves burn in the summer heat in a sunny position. In our experience, the silvery-leaved varieties can withstand the sun better, but their leaves have burned in the morning on the hot summers of recent years. When choosing a location, pay attention to the expected size of the plant. Quite dwarf and giant versions are available, but the latter only reach the size typical of the variety after several years.

Planting the purchased plant
Plant the root-wrapped stems as soon as possible as we took them, we can wait by planting the potted plants, but pay attention to their watering. Before planting, loosen the soil sufficiently, loosen the clay soil with good quality soil and small gravel. We can put a little organic manure at the bottom of the planting pit. After planting, water regularly for at least two weeks, do not allow the soil to dry out completely until our plant is rooted. They can also be planted in larger pots, so we can always put them in the desired place in the garden.

Care
It does not require special care. In drier weather, watering is appreciated, but perennials still hold up well. With the first frosts, the leaves also freeze, when they are separated from the plant, we can take them off. It does not require a blanket in winter. The only pest that is not prone to disease is the snail.

Nutrition
Rooted, perennial plants develop beautifully even without feeding. However, in order to achieve a higher leaf weight and size, it is recommended to mix organic manure into the soil before germination in the spring.

Delivery dimensions
Plantain lilies can also be ordered packed in roots in the spring, in which case only the stems of the plant will be sent in peat. Potted plants will be shipped in May and will be shipped in leaf form until the first frosts. During the delivery of autumn orders, their leaves may no longer be the plants ordered due to the first frosts.
