The garden saffron (Crocosmia) is an ornamental plant with a strongly spreading base, with a ca. On the erect flower stalks of 80 cm high, brilliant shades of lemon yellow, orange and red, smaller or larger, depending on the variety, open in garlands. Plant in a sunny place after the frosts have passed. It prefers good drainage and humus soils. After flowering, the flower stalks are cut back so that the plant devotes its energy to growing the bulbs. It is good frost tolerant, but if you want to spend the winter in the garden you will need foliage cover. The bulbs can also be picked up and then wintered in a cool, frost-free place after the leaves have dried. It also develops beautifully in pots, by planting several bulbs we can grow a compact flower bush in the first year, and when flowering we can place it in the desired place. When kept in pots, be sure to ensure a continuous water supply. We offer many variants, which are uniquely rich. You can view the characteristics of each variety by selecting the product. |
